Residential Drone Building Survey
DMP were instructed to complete a full building survey on an interesting period property that has been extensively altered over the years since its original construction circa 1900’s.
The original building was masked by extensions to most elevations. Therefore completely changing the original footprint of the building, as seen in our floor-plan below.
Interestingly the property’s evolution it had been extended at different points in time using materials and methods of that period. Furthermore, its important to mention several areas of the original external walls had been removed.
With all our building surveys, as part of our report we provide a supplementary plan. We believe in detailing the changes in the past and therefore provides greater insight in order to enable further changes to be made in the future. i.e. removal of walls in the current property today and therefore the assumed position of below ground foundation.
This identification would have proved much more difficult should we not have the benefit of our aerial drone photography. The use of aerial photograph enabled viability of the multiple roof coverings and subsequently the ability to provide informed comment on the multiple extensions and their construction intervals.
