Conservation Area Window Replacement in Canterbury,
Preserving Heritage & Character

Following on from our newsfeed of 17th October 2023 DMP has successfully achieved granted planning permission from Canterbury City Council. Specifically, for the replacement of timber single-glazed sliding sash windows with aluminum double-glazed sliding sash windows for an office building in the heart of Canterbury.

The application is located within the Canterbury Conservation Area and is adjacent to multiple listed buildings. The property is located on Watling Street. Interestingly, Watling Street is a historic route used by Ancient Britons and was paved as one of the major Roman Roads of Britannia.

The existing windows were beyond economic repair with some windows sealed shut on health and safety grounds.

Our team researched and selected an alternative to timber replacement in powder-coated aluminum. Furthermore, carefully prepared elevational, detailed drawings and window schedules for the replacement of the existing windows to support the planning application.
