Full Residential Building Survey
& Measured Survey
DMP undertook a Full Building Survey of a handsome 17th century Grade II Listed property, including outdoor swimming pool, situated within conservation area on the outskirts of Southborough, in Tunbridge Wells.
Interestingly, the property is Listed under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990. And given a Grade II status for its significance. We believe the property dates back to 1800’s. Furthermore, it is believed to have been converted from three smaller dwellings, to provide the family home as found today. Over the years there have been further changes to the window casements in the more recent centuries (19th century).
On completion of the inspection, DMP were able to notify the client with several deficiencies which are intrinsic to the age of the property and construction used during the 17th century. For example, mortar fillets had been applied surrounding chimney stacks. These stacks, which appeared to have deteriorated over time, subsequently causing entry points for water ingress. The use of the aerial drone survey was able provide a clear illustration to the client to highlight this issue.
Following the Full Building Survey, DMP are now proudly instructed to undertake a measured survey. Including, preparation of as existing and proposed drawings prior to submission to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council for Planning and Listed Building Consent.
