NEW life for an Old Woolies
Following our newsfeed of 12th February DMP are pleased today to have received granted planning permission from Mid Sussex District Council for the sub-division of existing ground floor old Woolworth retail space to provide two new retail units.
This includes change of use of rear first floor storage area to increase size of current gym. In additional, to change to 24 hour/7 days a week opening. Infill side extension between adjoining building at ground and first floors to provide new self-contained access to the first floor. Erection of new bin/cycle store and first floor rear extension.
The application, considered by delegated powers, despite various objections to the proposed 24 hour gym and lack of parking. However the the site was considered to be in a sustainable location as there are various town centre car parks/on street parking and numerous alternative modes of public transport.
