How to Choose the Right
Building Survey for you?

DMP undertake a full building survey of a recently extended and modernised detached family home in the ‘Village Area’ in Tunbridge Wells. The impressive accommodation over four storeys included 4 bedrooms and music studio at lower ground floor level.

During the detailed inspection which also included a drone aerial survey of the roof we found limited defects due to the recent renovations to the property.

Prior to preparation of a building survey reports DMP provide all clients with a follow up telephone conversation. In addition, together with a brief email of our findings and supporting image enabling our clients make an informed decision to proceed with the acquisition, negotiate with the vendor or retract their offer.

You need to chose the best survey based on the condition and age of the property. Obtaining the right survey now can save you time and money in the future.

Condition Report

A Condition Report describes the condition of the property, identifies any risks and potential legal issues and highlights any urgent defects. No advice or valuation is provided with this survey.

HomeBuyers Report

A HomeBuyers Report is a survey suitable for conventional properties in a reasonable condition. This will help you find out if there are any structural problems, such as damp or subsidence. The report doesnt look beyond the floorboards or behind walls. This report could be for suggestions for any repairs, and as such, negotiate the price.

Building Survey

A Building Survey report provides you with an in-depth analysis of the property’s condition, highlighting a range of issues which includes advice and guidance on defects, repairs and maintenance options. The report is aimed for larger or older properties, or if you are planning major works.

Building or Full Structural Survey

A Full Structural Survey is the most comprehensive survey and is suitable for all residential properties. Its particularly good for older homes or homes that might need repairs. Its an extensive and in some circumstances worth the extra money. Although this survey can not look under floorboards or behind walls, tiles etc it should include surveyors opinion on the potential for hidden defects. It also includes information on potential repair options.
