CELEBRATING 15 Years at DMP
We can hardly believe that this month Managing Partner John Whitlock is celebrating a whopping 15 years service at DMP!
To celebrate and acknowledge this wonderful landmark accomplishment the team came together for delicious luncheon, raising a glass of bubbly and enjoy a cheeky slice of chocolate cake.
Looking back at his journey to date, John comments;
“It seems only yesterday that I graduated from University, securing my first job out of Uni with Douglas Moat Practice working as a Architectural Technician. The marvelous 10 years that followed I’ve held a variety of interesting roles within the company, working hard and long hours. I’ve had the privilege of working with some true inspirational people, specifically owing real gratitude to my old boss and friend John Moat.
Being at the helm of DMP for the past six years as managing partner has been the most enjoyable experience. Working across a range of projects, sectors and disciplines is not only fascinating, complex but rewarding. Of course, running your own business sometimes has its days, dealing with the unexpected, balancing a number of hats, keeping the ship on track! A close friend once said to me “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way!”
Looking at the next 15 years, I forecast a strong future for DMP, significantly with our continuous development, nominations for business awards, industry accreditation and other significant initiatives. Its an exciting time for the next chapter. In the words of Colin Powell “There is no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”
