Permission success despite ‘obstacles’ for new Skate Park

DMP have successfully secured GRANTED planning permission for a new Skate Park facility from Lewes District Council.

DMP were approached to submit a full planning application for a replacement facility, due to the local area having lost a previous skate ramp to a housing development in 2019.

On behalf of the applicant, our team prepared a planning statement setting out the rationale for the new facility and submitted a full application including drawings as provided by the proposed skate park contractor.

Importantly, due to the archaeological sensitivity of the site, DMP also administered the preparation of a supporting Heritage Statement.

DMP monitored the application and liaised with the planning officer through-out the determination period to reach a positive outcome.

Moving forward, our team are currently instructed to deal with reserved planning conditions and are working with a third party Archaeological Consultant with respect written scheme of investigation and watching brief in order the skate park is completed for Spring 2024.
