Planning Permission GRANTED
in Dorking for New Duplex Flats
Instructed by a returning investment & developer client. DMP are delighted to receive planning permission for the conversion of a former community building in Dorking. The granted scheme is to provide four new duplex flats.
The subject property is adjacent to Dorking Conservation Area and located a short walk from Dorking Town Centre.
DMP were initially instructed to undertake a detailed measured survey of the vacant property in Spring 2021. Working closely with our client a variety of options for the site and building were developed.
A scheme for conversion was submitted to Mole Valley Council for consideration in late 2021. The single storey building was originally a D1(a) medical/health centre which became vacant in 2016. The application utilities the Use Classes Order amendments which were introduced on 1st September 2020, the building now fell in to Class E, therefore the planning process was considered under ‘Prior Notification’ for the conversion of the building.
