Quintessential Sussex Building Survey with a Twist
DMP last week had the privilege of undertaking a Building Survey and Acquisition Report of a stunning detached cottage.
This renovated four bedroom period property is nestled within the residential village of Peasmarsh, near Rye, East Sussex.
Interestingly, the property forms a detached 16th century thatched cottage which has recently undergone refurbishment. Now includes a impressive two storey contemporary extension via a glazed link to the original period house. A tasteful and architecturally design twist fit for modern living.
Award winning RIBA practice based in Rye, RX Architects had designed the extension to be a separate building similar to that of agricultural shed structures. Research via historical mapping, it would have once stood adjacent to the thatched farm cottage within its small-holding setting.
Overall, the property is in great decorative order following the extensive renovation with some decorative items requiring attention.
The drone is an excellent addition to our capabilities for inspections where high level areas are difficult to view or would generally require a mechanical lifts to gain visual access. Equally important the drone will assist on our sites which have tight and limited access
To demonstrate in the images below, the drone is hugely beneficial when looking at a building rooftop. Allowing our experienced building surveyors to inspect parts of the roof that a person may never have been able to get to.
Why use a drone?
- No requirement for expensive scaffolding or hire a cherry picker
- HD quality footage allows for close up inspection
- Inspect unsafe and difficult access with ease
- A cheaper alternative saving time
- A smarter alternative
