A Trio of Garage Projects

Over the last few weeks we have obtained planning permission for oak framed garages either adjacent to Grade II Listed Cottages or located in the AONB and Greenbelt.

Garage Project 1

Following on from a Full Building Survey for client in late 2020 of property in Burwash DMP were recently instructed to obtain planning permission to extend an existing oak framed garage to provide additional parking. Significantly, drawings were prepared with supporting planning statement and has now been permitted by Rother District Council.

Garage Project 2

A previous client returned to DMP having work with him in 2016. He had recently acquired an Grade II Listed cottage in Etchingham and wished to demolish an existing single bay oak frame garage and construct a new two bay garage together with log store.

We submitted a planning application together with Heritage, Planning and Design & Access Statement for consideration and during the consultation period. In addition, we worked closely with the planning officer and conservation officer in order an updated design that achieved as to near the clients original brief whilst limiting the effect of new garages against the Grade II Listed host property.

Permission granted and green light by Rother District Council.

Garage Project 3

A new client to DMP, in early 2021, purchased a portion of a substantial Edwardian Manor house near Rotherfield. Our client wished to rationalise three outbuildings on a very tight triangular site with shared access.

Therefore, DMP undertook a measured survey of the outbuildings and house. Our architectural team prepared as existing floor plans, elevations and indicative sections. Once a proposal for the new two bay garage with ancillary storage was agreed with the client we prepared a supporting statement and submitted for consideration.

Importantly, we are delighted to confirm the proposal was permitted by Wealden District Council.
