Successful Completion of Roofing Replacement Project at
Kent College, Canterbury
Following on from our newsfeed update of 28 July 2026, we are pleased to confirm the successful completion of the roofing replacement project at Kent College, Canterbury.
The works were carefully programmed for the summer break, with Abbott Construction successfully meeting the client’s deadline and handing the building back to the College in readiness for the new autumn term.
The project involved the controlled removal of asbestos roof slates and asbestos-containing ropes around the existing rooflights, together with the installation of new roof coverings, lead-lined valley gutters and a new flat-roof system.
Further improvements included new solar-operated Velux rooflights and blinds, providing greater daylight, ventilation and ease of operation. Internal making good and redecoration were also completed, leaving the affected areas ready for staff and pupils to return.,
The successful delivery of the project reflects the careful planning and cooperation of the client, contractor and wider project team, particularly within the constraints of a fixed summer programme.
