Webbs of Tenterden Celebrate Ten Years Since Their Devastating Fire
On the 6th November 2013 John Whitlock received a call from business associate to attend a property at 45 high Street, Tenterden which initially was reported to have suffered from a small building fire.
John (acting as the 4th emergency service) having inspected the buildings in the presence of Kent Fire Brigade and Kent Police soon realised the scale and complexity of the project.
Webbs of Tenterden established in 1910 occupied the retail 18th Century premises over basement, ground, first and second floors which had been fully devastated by fire caused by plumbing works.
Importantly, DMP worked with the Webb’s insurers Loss Adjuster and varying contractors from day one on November 2013 and finally handed over the newly re-built to the Webbs for their Grand Re-Opening in September 2015.
DMP’s in-house design team also prepared various drawings and details for Planning, Listed Building Consent, Construction and specialist Detailing.
On a recent visit to Webbs of Tenterden, John reminisced over the project by the great shop window display prepared by the staff of No.45.
